Job Opportunities at Firecracker Baseball

We at Firecracker Baseball are always looking for good baseball people to lend a hand.  We believe in building relationships with people in the community, along with providing a good positive learning environment for Sports Management, Digital Marketers and Public Relations professionals looking to advance their careers.

Here are our current job opportunities for our upcoming events these are all paid positions on behalf of Firecracker Baseball. Game Day Operations is an important position at Firecracker Baseball.  This person is responsible for representing the tournament at one of our tournament fields for the entire duration of that event.  The Supervisor responsibilities include keeping “the book” for each game, handling any protests that are launched, maintaining the field between games (if there is no grounds crew) or just about any administrative duty that would represent Firecracker Baseball in a positive manner. This is a paid position, on behalf of Firecracker Baseball, LLC, paid for either 3 days up to 5 days of our events (depends on field location/host of playoffs, etc).

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Setup and breakdown of game day activities at each field/facility assigned.
  • Run game day activities such as maintaining and keeping score of the games; starting/ending games on time; paying umpires and handling financial paperwork; reporting scores and interpretation of rules/tournament guidelines.
  • Perform administrative duties at our College Showcase Camps prior to each tournament/event.
  • Run administrative duties such as handling player check-ins; social media paperwork; apparel promotions/sales and other related duties.
  • Assist with public relations director when assigned
  • Perform public relation duties such as social media campaigns; social media promotions when needed and cross-market our events, highlights and teams when engaged at each field/event.
  • Act as Firecracker Baseball community liaison by being personal, comforting and accommodating with customer relations with teams; facility owners; players; parents and coaches at all times.
  • Attendance of all games at your assigned field/facility during the event(s) assigned.
  • Attend Orientation is required; online version is available.  
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space at all games  
  • Housing is provided by Firecracker Baseball at all events; usually in hotels at travel destinations.
  • Must provide own transportation to games, events and other related duties within Firecracker Baseball.

The camp instructor is a baseball coach that will help Firecracker Baseball instruct/evaluate the players at our College Showcase Camp events.  This person, typically a college coach will be on the field during our camp helping make sure the event runs smoothly, by coaching a positional group, taking notes and collecting data on each individual player. This is a paid position, on behalf of Firecracker Baseball, LLC at the end of each day.

The position of camp evaluator is a college coach or pro scout who comes to our event to help evaluate players for college and/or pro consideration.  They will be on the grounds to watch/evaluate players in their efforts to help further the player’s baseball career. This is a paid position, on behalf of Firecracker Baseball, LLC at the end of each day.

Individuals should have a proven interest in sports announcing and/or broadcasting and a complete understanding of the game of baseball is required. Preference will be given to college students or proven professionals who have announcing and/or broadcasting, sports-related majors and have been actively involved in announcing at a game or event. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. This is a fast paced, and multi-tasking position. If you are up for the challenge this position is for you.

  • Work with site supervisor to gather information needed for the PA announcements  
  • Ensure the operation and accuracy of the scoreboard  
  • Play ballpark music (clean and upbeat; baseball music)
  • Attendance of all games assigned per day, playoffs & championship games; along with college showcase camp events.
  • Arrive early each day to become familiar with the equipment, put the PA book together, and review the format of game day.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space at home games
  • Housing can be discussed as part of the compensation packages.
  • Must provide own transportation to games, events & other related duties as a paid contractor.

Individuals must have a proven interest in graphic design or marketing,  as well as a well-rounded understanding of the game of baseball. Preference will be given to graphic design or marketing and media-related college students but also proven professionals that have been actively involved in social media, graphic design and sports programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. Published social media and graphic design samples are required and will be reviewed during interview and selection process.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • The Social Media & Graphic Design coordinator is part of the Firecracker Baseball Public Relations team and he/she will be exposed to and be required to participate in our multi-media platforms  while working with Director of Public Relations in setting media event goals.
  • This position is responsible for designing and creating social media content in conjunction with the Photographer and Videographer and is responsible for managing and tracking all social media accounts.  
  • As a social media expert, this person will help determine and manage what type of content works best on each platform, optimize content accordingly, as well as understanding and leveraging the different features of each platform.
  • Must know how to engage with our audience through social media posts and interactions.
  • Accountable for designing graphics to enhance social media and YouTube broadcast traffic.  
  • Responsible for the creation of a standard graphics template and branding for use across all social channels.  
  • Must monitor all social media channels daily and contribute commentary as necessary.  
  • The ideal candidate is required to have excellent attention to detail as well as experience using Adobe products including Photoshop, Illustrator and video editing software.  
  • Candidates must have a strong understanding of social media, including: YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Must be able to turn around high-quality content quickly and with minimal oversight and supervision. Maintain a clean and organized work space at all events/games.
  • Housing can be discussed as part of the compensation packages.
  • Must provide own transportation to games, events and other related duties within Firecracker Baseball.

Individuals should have a proven interest in photography and a sports interest with, a well-rounded understanding of the game of baseball. Preference will be given to college students or proven professionals who have photography and media-related majors and have been actively involved  with photography and media and sports programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. Published sports photography samples are required and will be reviewed during the interview and selection process.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • The Official Photographer is part of the Firecracker Baseball Public Relations team and will be exposed to and be required to participate in our multi-media platforms and will work with Director of Public Relations in setting media team goals.   
  • Must have own equipment, including a high-speed camera capable of capturing the fast-paced details of sports. A minimum 75-300mm kit lens is required. (can assist with this, if needed)
  • Have a smart phone capable of posting to social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, others).
  • Photograph game action (on-field) and crowd candid’s (off-field) at all games throughout pool play, playoffs and special events including coaches, players and umpires in action during the event. Including, but not limited to: Pre-Game Ceremonies, in game action, crowd, VIP guests, interns, dugout shots, interviews, showcase action, college/pro scouts and other community and special events.  
  • Assist the organization with public relations, special events, and other similar projects/duties.
  • Archive all photos for all events in assigned photo drive, following all procedures and deadlines as described in related instructional document.
  • All photos become the property of Firecracker Baseball. All photo credits on published photos will be assigned to that individual.  
  • Select and edit action photos immediately after each game and send to Director of Public Relations and Social Media Coordinators for social media platforms.  
  • The ideal candidate must be able to turn around high-quality content quickly and with minimal oversight and supervision.  
  • Housing can be discussed as part of the compensation packages.
  • Must provide own transportation to games, events & other related duties as a paid contractor.

Individuals should have a proven interest in sports broadcasting and a complete understanding of the game of baseball is required. Preference will be given to college students or proven professionals who have broadcasting and sports-related majors and have been actively involved in broadcasting and sports programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. Submission of reporting and broadcasting audio and/or video material is required and will be reviewed during interview and selection process.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • The Field Reporter is part of the Firecracker Baseball Public Relations team and will be exposed to and required to participate in our multi-media platforms and will work with Director of Public Relations in setting media team goals.  
  • On-camera reporting and interviewing players, coaches and fans during all pool play games throughout the tournaments including playoffs and social events.  
  • Prepare for each game by fact-checking teams, players, pronunciations of names, and coordinating with Firecracker Baseball video broadcasters on timing of interviews.  
  • Work with the video broadcasters and videographer on the planning and implementation of pre and post-game shows.
  • Set up and break down broadcast equipment at each field per day.  
  • Promote all social events on broadcasts, including but not limited to the College Showcase Camps, sponsors, BBQ nights, etc.
  • Participate and/or lead in the production of audio and/or video interviews for posting on website and/or social media platforms.  
  • Contribute occasional feature articles for website and for possible use in digital marketing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space at all games and events.  
  • Housing can be discussed as part of the compensation packages.
  • Must provide own transportation to games, events & other related duties as a paid contractor.

Individuals should have a proven interest in sports video production and a complete understanding of the game of baseball is required. Preference will be given to college students and proven professionals who have video production and media-related projects and have been actively involved in video production and media and sports programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. Submission of sports-related video production material is required and will be reviewed during interview and selection process.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • The Videographer is part of the Firecracker Baseball Public Relations team and will be exposed to and required to participate in our multi-media platforms and will work with Director of Public Relations in setting media team goals.  
  • Capture game highlights on video camera, create highlight video packages with commentary, and prepare video packages for social media platforms for posting immediately following each day’s events.
  • Video equipment is available from the organization, or photographer may use his/her own equipment.  
  • Record and package pre-game and post-game interviews of players and coaches.
  • Field Reporters will be the host and do actual interviewing.
  • Upload videos to Firecracker Baseball YouTube site within 60 minutes at the end of each day.  
  • Video work will include, but not limited to: pool play games, playoffs/championships, college showcase camps, social events and other community events.  
  • The ideal candidate must be able to turn around high-quality content quickly and with minimal oversight and supervision.  
  • Videographer will be required to coordinate activities with field reporters, social media coordinators and the Director of Public Relations in a fast paced environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space at all games

  • Must provide own transportation to games, events & other related duties as a paid contractor.
