Firecracker Baseball’s Intern Opportunities

At Firecracker Baseball we are always looking for good people to lend a hand.  We believe in building relationships with people in the community, along with providing a good positive learning environment for Sports Management, Journalism and Sports Marketing professionals looking to advance their careers.

Here are our current intern opportunities for our upcoming events, some are paid positions and some are internships. If you know someone who could be interested in working for Firecracker Baseball, LLC in 2019 at one of our events, refer them to our website and this form to begin the process.

(4-5 positions per semester)

Individuals should have an interest in sports to ensure the quality of our teams/coaches and family’s experience. Preference will be given to college students who have sports-related, public relations or event management majors. Strong interpersonal, communication and team skills are preferred. Experience with a baseball background is also a plus. Submission of a cover letter explaining your interest in Firecracker Baseball and a resume are requested.  

Game Day Operations interns are part of the Firecracker Baseball Operations Team and report to the Tournament Director and/or President. This group is expected to work closely together to ensure a positive and consistent game day experience.

Requirements Include:

  • Applicants should have a background/interest in sports/event management; game day operations and customer service.
  • Interns report to each event the night before and work through its related duties.
  • Summer internships will begin in June and go through the end of July but related duties will carry through their summer term
  • Fall internships will begin in September and end with our last event in October but related duties will carry through their fall term.
  • Interns must be available for all games and events for their term. Interns report to the field one hour before the game/event, and remain until all post game duties are fulfilled. Your employment must not interfere with your internship commitment.
  • Great part of Firecracker Baseball is you CAN maintain other employment or personal life while interning at our events/games as long as that is not interfering with your assignment(s).

(2-3 positions per semester)

Individuals must have a proven interest in graphic design or marketing,  as well as a well-rounded understanding of the game of baseball. Preference will be given to graphic design or marketing and media-related majors that have been actively involved in social media, graphic design and sports programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. Published social media and graphic design samples are required and will be reviewed during interview and selection process.

Social Media Coordinator interns are part of the Firecracker Baseball Operations Team and report to the Director of Public Relations, Tournament Director and/or President. This group is expected to work closely together to ensure a positive and consistent game day experience.

Requirements Include:

  • Applicants should have a background/interest in graphic designer, sports marketing, digital marketing, baseball and/or customer service.
  • Interns report to each event the night before and work through its related duties.

Individuals should have a proven interest in photography and a sports interest with, a well-rounded understanding of the game of baseball. . Preference will be given to college students who have photography and media-related majors and have been actively involved  with photography and media and sports programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. Published sports photography samples are required and will be reviewed during the interview and selection process.

Official Photographer interns are part of the Firecracker Baseball Operations Team and report to the Director of Public Relations, Tournament Director and/or President. This group is expected to work closely together to ensure a positive and consistent game day experience.

Individuals should have a proven interest in sports broadcasting and a complete understanding of the game of baseball is required. Preference will be given to college students who have broadcasting and sports-related majors and have been actively involved in broadcasting and sports programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. Submission of reporting and broadcasting audio and/or video material is required and will be reviewed during interview and selection process.

Field Reporter interns are part of the Firecracker Baseball Operations Team and report to the Director of Public Relations, Tournament Director and/or President. This group is expected to work closely together to ensure a positive and consistent game day experience.

Requirements Include:

  • Applicants should have a background/interest in sports broadcasting, baseball and/or customer service.
  • Interns report to each event the night before and work through its related duties.
  • Summer internships will begin in June and go through the end of July but related duties will carry through their summer term.
  • Fall internships will begin in September and end with our last event in October but related duties will carry through their fall term.

Individuals should have a proven interest in sports announcing and/or broadcasting and a complete understanding of the game of baseball is required. Preference will be given to college students who have announcing and/or broadcasting, sports-related majors and have been actively involved in announcing at a game or event. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. This is a fast paced, and multi-tasking position. If you are up for the challenge this position is for you.

This position reports to the Tournament Director or President of Firecracker Baseball. Submission of a cover letter explaining your interest in Firecracker Baseball, a resume, a sample Public Address Announcement and audio and/or video material is required.

All of the above roles are subject to availability and needs of the organization and may be combined or altered in any way at the discretion of the Firecracker Baseball Adminstration.

Firecracker Baseball internships are UNPAID and the organization DOES NOT provide housing for interns but can assist in finding accommodations at our events for the summer. At the conclusion of the summer events, interns will be hired or compensated for future jobs if performance is positive and rewarding.
