2017 4th of July Showcase Tournament Information

Dear Team Representative/Head Coach:

We are pleased to offer you an invitation to the 10th Annual Firecracker Baseball Showcase Tournament. This showcase-based tournament will be held over the 4th of July weekend with lots of exciting action with 96 teams expected this year for the first time ever, last year we had 84 teams participate.

Each year our tournament popularity continues to grow! Unfortunately, we do sell out early, usually by the holidays. This past summer we turned away 37 teams. We have received interest earlier than expected this year so we are opening up registrations now! Always looking to improve and provide a first class customer service to our players, coaches, families and programs, we are annoucning our first new addition for 2017. We are opening up the tournament to 13U and 14U age groups this year. Thi year we are offering a 2-day College Showcase event, then the 13U, 14U, 15U, 17U and 19U tournament play creating a 7 day tournament for everyone involved, creating one of the most well attended, highly competitive and attractive option on the East Coast for summer baseball for tounrnaments!

Remember once you play in one of tournaments and events, your spot is safe and secured for each tournament moving forward as long as your team/program bides by our rules, tournament guidelines and sportsmanship. We do reserve the right to ban teams or programs from future events for violating these rules for the inergrity of the game of baseball, along with the Firecracker Baseball Showcase tournament brand.

We can’t emphasize enough to secure your spot early.

Again, this will be a definite sellout for all age groups!

Mark your calendars now!

13U and 14U Divisions

Playoffs & Championships: Monday, June 3rd

College Showcase Days: Wednesday, June 28th and Thursday, June 29th

15U, 17U and 19U Divisions

Pool Play: Friday, June 30th-Sunday, July 2nd;

Playoffs: Monday, July 3rd; Championships: Tuesday, July 4th

Pool play format will be used with all teams guaranteed to play at least 4 games (weather permitting). Teams will be placed in pools, based solely on where they are from. We like to place teams from different areas against each other to allow the kids to play teams from different areas, cities and play against different players then they are normally used to. We also rotate teams around, year to year, from different facilities so they get to play on different college and high school fields.

Participation is expected to fill up before the January 1, 2017 as usual. Registration for this tournament is $925.00, including a box (1 dozen) of game baseballs. There are discounts for entering by different dates, so check registration form and website regulary. Please fill out the registration form and pay online to insure your team a spot in this tournament. Upon receipt of your application and payment, an email will be sent confirming your entry and that your spot is secured. Your spot is NOT fully secured until payment is received.

This year we are adding another day to the College Showcase for all players involved in the tournament! This will be a pro style showcase. We had an unbelievable turnout for 1st ever event and we turned away over 30 players from this event. Registration for the showcase will be announced later this summer, during the month of August 2016. Keep an eye out for registration information and let your players know and direct them to the website for all information regarding our tournament and events.

All Umpires are High School board certified. All games will have 2 umpires during pool play and playoffs. There will be 3 umpires for all Championship games at a site TBA. Preliminary round games will take place at area high school and collegiate fields with the playoffs and championship games at college facilities. Last year’s championship games took place at NCAA D1's Bryant University Conaty Park. In prior years we have used the University of Rhode Island’s artificial turf field, along with Brown University, Rhode Island College, Johnson & Wales, Bridgewater State University, Dean College, Assumption College and the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. This year we are hopeful to add Stonehill College, Community College of Rhode Island and beautiful Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island.

We also contact all the local colleges and professional scouts on our extensive college and pro contact list to let them know about the tournament. We forward showcase day workouts, workout lists, tournament team rosters and tournament schedules to get your student athletes more exposure for the weekend. This past year we had over 56 representatives from college and professional programs, including Wheaton College, Boston College, Bryant University, Salve Regina University, Post University, Daniel Webster, St. John’s University, Johnson & Wales University, Brown University, University of Rhode Island, Assumption College, Nicholls College, University of San Fransico, Stonehill College, Worcester State, University of Massachusetts, the College of the Holy Cross, CCRI, Union College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Quinicipac University and Skidmore College along with scouts from the New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Tampa Rays, Miami Marlins, New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, Texas Rangers, Pittsburgh Pirates and Seattle Mariners plus many more.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. If you have had a good time in the past, please pass along our information to any other programs/teams in your area and we look forward to hearing from you soon. We wish you the best in 2016 with your program and hope to see you in the 2017 baseball season.

Thank you,
